His father died before the war. His mother was deported, but gave him to a Turkish family in their town, to save his life.
Khachadur lived seven years there being the servant of this family. When Armenians were leaving this town, he fled to Harpoot where an Armenian priest received him. A few days later the priest went to Aleppo and took Khachadur with him.
His mother's brothers are in America.
Khachadur was received in the orphanage of the Near East Relief.
