Yeghsa was eight years old in the time of deportation. She came on the road with her parents and a sister. The father was soon killed. Yeghsa and her mother reached a village near Urfa. There a Kurd brought her to his house. Another Kurd had dragged the mother to a neighbouring village. Poor Yeghsa had to work hard every day she was gathering fuel. After some years the mother succeeded in fleeing with her daughter to Urfa. There Yeghsa married an Armenian. 

            He was newly taken as a soldier and Yeghsa and her mother fled to Aleppo.
