His parents died when Hayig was a little baby. He does not remember their names. His uncle took care of him all the time, and they were deported together until Rakka where his uncle died. Hayig lived with an Arab for 7 years.
Hayig became a farmer and remained 7 years with the Arab who persuaded him that there were no Armenians left and Hayig believed it. One day several Armenian businessmen came to Rakka. They thought that Hayig was an Armenian and they told him about the Armenian orphanages in Aleppo. At the first opportunity he fled from the Arab and came with the help of our Rakka organization to Aleppo.
