During the war her father was a soldier in the Turkish Army. Erhen was given by her mother to a Turk in order to safe her life. The Turk took her to his village where she lived 10 days. Erhen fled from there to her grandmother who was in a Turkish house of another village. She could not be received there and so she was abandoned in the streets. A Turkish policeman saw her and within a few minutes she was incorporated to a leaving caravan and exiled to Mardin.
There again a Turk took her to his house as a servant. Erhen became ill and the Turk send her away. A Kourdish woman took her to her tent and took care of her. Erhen remained all the time there, one day the Kourdish woman wanted to marry her to a Turk. Erhen refused and fled to Urfa. The Armenians from Urfa helped her and send her to Aleppo.
Erhen has 2 brothers in America.
Erhen was not able to learn embroidery she has been placed as a servant.
