            His parents were killed during the French war in Marash. Barkev fled to Arabdagh and lived there with an Arab as a shepherd.

            When the war was finished he came with his master to Aleppo in order to sell wheat. Once here he went directly to the Armenian church and remained there until he was sent to us.

            His uncle is in America.

 

 

Barkev could not adapt himself to the life in the city and ran away.
