Mariam was in an orphanage in
Mezreh. During the deportation she had gone to see her mother in Harpoot. The
gendarms pushed her onward with her mother and she in this way came on the road
to Deir-el-Zor, where she came into the possession of an Arab, who married her
by force. She lived eleven years with the Mohammedan until she took her chance
to come out of the harem and reach our rescue-house.
Left
