Boghos'
father went to Adana 4 years before the war in business. Boghos was with him.
His father was killed, and Boghos was brought to an American orphanage in
Everek. When the order of deportation came, Boghos was sent to his mother in
Nevshehir and from there exiled with her and his sister.
On the way to Katma his mother
became ill and died and he and his sister were sent further on to Ras-el-Ain.
There the caravan encamped 6 months, and every day people from there were
robbed by Arabs, Courds, and Circassians.
Boghos also was taken away by
a Courd and brought to his house. Some days afterwards he was sold for 2 pounds
to another Courd, where he stayed as a shepherd 10 years. He was always looking
for an opportunity to flee and one night he succeeded. With another Armenian
boy he fled to Ras-el-Ain. The two boys did not know where to go and they sat
down on the beck of Khabour. Some Armenians passed, and when they saw that the
boys were Armenians they protected them till they were able sending them to
us.
