His
parents died in the beginning of the war. He himself came on the road with his
uncle and thousands of Armenians. The caravan passed Konia, then they went
further on to Meskene. His uncle was lost on the road. An Arab one day dragged
him away with him to his tent. After twelve years our agent found him and
helped him to reach our home. After some days he disappeared but we understood
the reason, because one day a boy came to our house, whom Hovhannes had sent
here, and sometimes afterwards he himself arrived and had another Armenian boy
with him. Hovhannes had seen that by us it was good to stay, here was a harbour
and he wanted that other fellow-sufferers might deal with him.
Hovhannes went
to live with his master.
Left our care: October 3, 1927. Selfsupporting.
Machinist. Came back very sick and died November 13, 1927
