Verkine was deported with her
father, one aged brother and one sister to Deir-el-Zor. Her mother died before
the deportation. In Deir-el-Zor died also her father.
When they were obliged to go
further, her brother preferred to leave Verkine and her little sister in a
Turkish house in order to save their lives. Verkine remained there many years,
but when she heard that the Turk will sell her to another one, fled and was
protected by an Armenian family living in the environment. Once they had the
opportunity to send her to our reception house.
