Peniamin was deported with his
mother, two sisters and one brother. His father was a soldier in the Turkish
army. Near Hassitshe the caravan was attacked and dispersed by Arabs. During
the confusion he lost all his dear ones. Until today he has not gained any
information about them. He himself was taken by an Arab to his village in
Sindjar Dagh, then he came into the possession of a Kurd with whom he remained
eight years serving as a farmer. Once
wearied of that unendurable life, he fled to Hassitshe, whence by our agent he
was sent to us.
