His mother died when he was a little baby. Manoog was living in his uncles' house and grew up there. When the Armenian deportation started his father was taken to the Turkish army where he became ill and died.
Manoog was deported with his uncles' family and Kharpoot people to Zoonar. On the road the caravan of deportation was attacked and most of the unhappy people were murdered by Kourds and Turks. A few survivors were sent on to Mardin. Manoog was taken to an Arab family where he lived nine years as a servant.
Once he came with his "owner" to Mardin where he met some Assyrian people who advised him to flee to Syrian territory. Manoog wanted to escape from the Moslems, he fled at night to Hassitshe, there he met our agent who sent him by motor-car to Aleppo.
As far as we know he has no relatives.
Left our care: 9-10-24. Relatives.
