During the war his father was killed. When his mother was deported she gave her son to a reach [rich] Turk in order to save his life. Not very long afterwards, his mother returned and became the servant of the Turk. She lived one year in this house, became ill and died. Hamparzoon lived eight years there acting as a farmer.
When Armenians began to emigrate he joined a caravan and fled to Aleppo.
His mother was found and he went to live with her.
