During the deportation his father was killed. His mother gave him to a Turk when she was deported, hoping to safe in this way the life of her only child Boghos.
Two months afterwards the Turkish government collected all Armenian children and exiled them with the last party. The caravan was passing Ziaret. Some Kurds attacked the caravan and Boghos became a prisoner of them. A Kourd took him to his village and he lived seven years in the Kourd's house being a shepherd.
When Armenians were emigrating to Aleppo, he fled to Siroudji. An Armenian party of refugees was passing, he joined them and reached in this way this city.
