Hovhannes'
father was thrown in prison and died there.
His mother was taken by a
Turk. Hovhannes and his sister were exiled with many people from Malatia.
The caravan reached the
Euphrates, there the most of the people were killed and thrown in the
water.
A Kord dragged him away and
another took his sister.
Hovhannes stayed with that
Kourd 10 years as a shepherd. He sometimes saw his sister.
One day some muleteers saw
Hovhannes and persuaded him to follow them to Aleppo. He came to our house, but
after a while he wanted to go back to bring his sister. Went away to try
bringing his sister with him.
Left
our care: July 30, 1925.
Did not come back.
