Pertoush' father was a soldier
in the Turkish army and was killed. She was deported with her mother, 2
brothers and a sister.
The children became ill and
the poor mother had to leave them on the road.
The caravan came near
Deir-el-Zor, there Pertoush was dragged away by an Arab, where she stayed 9
years. She then fled to Deir-el-Zor, where a Turk took her in his house. After
2 years she fled to our helper in that own, and he sent her on to us.
Left
our care. December 16th, 1925. Relatives
