PICTURE

Siranoosh's father died two years before the deportation, her brother killed a few days before the banishment. Her relatives, mother, sister and aunt were exiled to Ras-el-Ain. Her mother was married to an Armenian from Ras-el-Ain and she lived with her aunt. They were living in a village near Ras-el-Ain transformed in some kind of a camp not allowed to enter the city.

Within a few months they were exiled again and so they lost each other. The greatest amount of the deported people were killed in the valley of the Euphrates. Siranoosh being a child was taken to an Arab family and kept there during nine years. In the meantime she was married to a Turk with whom she came to Hassitshe. Our agent recognized her as an Armenian girl, informed the government of this fact and as the result she was given back to her nation by the Governor of Der-el-Zor.
