Boghos was a little boy of six years when the Armenians
were deported from their native town. His parents, who thought that he could
not resist to the fatigues of the deportation gave him to their Turkish
neighbour Ibrahim-Ali. So Boghos was not deported but his parents were. Boghos
never talked about them. He did the work he was told to do and never complained
about anything. Years passed and Boghos grew up. His Turkish master who saw
that Boghos' parents did not return, tried to force him to embrace Islam. The
boy refused and was illtreated. Last year he was taken to the Turkish army. He
tried to flee but did not succeed. Lately, his batallion was sent to build a
road between Mardin and Djezire. This time he was not far from the Syrian
frontier. He fled and reached Hassitshe, from there our agent helped him to get
to Aleppo.
