Newly
a poor, sick boy came to our house.
Our helper in Bab had sent him
per motor-car to our home in Aleppo.
Till now Elias has been among
the Beduins and treated very badly. He was a little shepherd and had always to
be among the sheep day and night. He was often beaten cruelly and was always
hungry.
As Elias came here his breast
was one wound. The women had put burning rags on, thinking in that way to cure
him from Malaria and stomachache.
The same day he came here he
got a bath, and we never forget his smile as he said: "How wonderful!
Never I have been nursed in that way, one is washing me and another is pouring
water over me, never in my life anybody has been kind to me."
Elias
was very ill when he arrived to us. After some days we sent him to the
hospital. He stayed there four days and then died.
Died
December 16, 1925.
