Sarkis was deported with his mother. On the road going to Malatia they were attacked by Kourds and robbed. After great troubles they could return to their town. He lived two years with his mother in his native town, then the latter died. He could not support himself and so he had to go to a Turkish house working for his daily bread.
Sarkis went to Kizne and lived six years among the Moslems doing farmer work. When he heard about the Armenian emigration he fled to an Armenian family and hid himself there until a party started for Aleppo then he joined them and came to this town.
When Sarkis was deported his father served in the Turkish army.
Learned a trade and became selfsupporting.
