Her mother died before the war. Her father was a soldier in the Turkish army when Armenouhi herself was exiled to Harpoot. Turks and Kourds together were intended to kill her caravan. She fled at night from her group. She succeeded in finding a place as a worker in a Turkish family.
Armenouhi remained seven years in this family. When Armenians emigrated to Aleppo, she fled to the Catholic church. The priest received and protected her for a few days and then they sent her to Aleppo.
