Bedros only remembers his father's and his own name,
nothing else from his earliest childhood. He may have been taken by an Arab in
the time of deportation. That man belonged to the Shammar tribe. Bedros became
a shepherd by his possessor. One day he heard that he was an Armenian and that
all other Armenians were killed. He believed so till he one day from our agent
heard the contrary. He fled and reached Mosul. There our helper found him and
sent him per motor-car on to our rescue-home in Aleppo. Rather weak boy
