His father was killed in the beginning of the Armenian massacres. He was given to a Kourd in order to save his life. His mother, sister and two brothers were deported by the Turkish government.
Sarkis never got any news from his relatives. He lived nine years with the Kourd doing the work of a shepherd and farmer.
With him [there] were some other Armenian boys and they advised him to flee to Aleppo. He tried but could not succeed in the beginning. Later Armenians were emigrating from Turkey. He fled at night, joined a leaving party in the next morning and reached safely this city.
As far as we know he has no relatives.
Sarkis went to the village Tel-Samen and is there learning farmer-work.
