Zabel was married before the
war, her husband was taken in the Turkish Army and killed. She was deported
with her parents, soon the caravan was attacked by Arabs, most of the innocent
people were killed, among them also Zabels' parents. She was dragged by an Arab
and brought to his house. After some months the Arab sold her to another one.
The latter had 2 wives, and Zabel was obliged to work hard in the house and in
the field.
Several times she tried to
flee, but was brought back. Finally she succeeded and reached to Rakka, from
where by our agent she was sent to our reception-house in Aleppo.
