Karekin was exiled with his parents, one sister and relatives to Mosul.  

                  There the caravan was attacked by Kourds and Arabs. (Seine Eltern und Vervandten) His parents and relatives were killed and the two little ones were alone in the caravan.  

                  One day an Arab took them both and brought them to his tent.  

                  Karekin stayed there as a shepherd 11 years. One day he heard about our house and fled. He reached Deir-el-Zor and was from there sent to us.
