His native village was attacked and destroyed by the Turks. Many people were killed, others fled to the mountains, some were deported and Krikor was among them.

            He does not know what became of his parents and he never had any news from them.

            In Malatia a Turk took him to his house and he worked four years for him. The Turk ill-treated him and so Krikor decided to flee. He went to another Turkish family and lived five years among them as a servant.

            When Armenians were emigrating he asked his master for the permission to go. As he was permitted he joined a caravan of leaving Armenians and reached safely this city.

            As far as we know he has no relatives.

            Krikor learned a trade and left our care.
