Together with other Armenian Bitlis people, his parents,
sister and brother were deported to the region of Diarbekir. Near El-Medine,
the caravan was attacked by the Turks and Kurds and most of these unfortunate
people were massacred. Ghazar has been present, this horrible view made him
flee, he ran and ran without knowing where he was running to. He came back to a
Bitlis village but he could find no Armenians there. However, a Kurd who knew
his father took him to his house and kept him there as his servant. During the
Kurdish-Turkish troubles, his master was sent to Diarbekir and his sons to
Konia on exil. Of course Ghazar could not remain alone there. He went to Midiat
where he found some work until his recent flight. Once in Hassitshe our agent
sent him further on to Aleppo.
