Haroutioune's father died before the deportation. When Haroutioune's mother was exiled with her son she gave him to a Kourd to save his life. Two months afterwards all Armenian children were collected by the Turkish government and emporter to different caravans to be deported. Haroutioune's caravan was sent to Roum-Kaleh, where he came to a Kourdish house. He became a shepherd and lived 7 years with the Kourd.
When he heard about the orphanages, he fled at night time to Jirablous. He was sent from there to us.
Haroutioune has a cousin named Sautrias in America.
Haroutioune was received in the orphanage of the Near East Relief.
