When Marie was seven years old, she was deported with her
parents and three sisters. They suffered on the road under the burning sun and
from the rude gendarms. Near Rakka the caravan was attacked by Arabs. Her
parents were killed and her sisters disappeared. She herself was by an Arab
brought to his house in Rakka. She was treated as a slave and after two years
she was sold to an Arab.
Newly we succeeded in rescuing her and sent her to her
sister in Beirut.
We sent Marie to her sister in Beirut.
Left our care: April 22,
1930. Relatives, sister in Beirut.
