Haiganoush was deported with her mother, sister and brother during the military service of her father. Her younger sister died the first day of deportation. Her mother shortly afterwards remained alone on the road suffering from rheumatisum. Haiganoush with her brother were driven on to some village near Urfa. From there they were sent on to the Rakka region.
Sister and brother had spent their last penny and were travelling hungry. When they met nomadic tribes of Arabs they went to them asking for bread. They were received by them, even kept as servants for nine years.
One Chauffeur told them about our Reception-house here in Aleppo. Both of them were only too glad to come and so they fled at night from the Beduin camp and reached safely our station on July 22.
Left our care: January 13, 1926. Selfsupporting, Embroidery.
Living together with her brother and father.
