In the beginning of the Great War his mother died and his
father was thrown in prison, tortured and died under the hand of his
tormentors. Krikor with a brother Kevo and a sister Mariam were deported with
their country-people. The poor little ones had nobody to take care of them. They
walked afoot, their feet were swollen, tired, hungry and thirsty they were. The
caravan reached Malatia. There Kurds attacked them. Krikor's brother was killed
and his sister thrown in a river. Krikor was driven further on with the
remainder of the people. In the region of Urfa a Kurd dragged him to his house
and Krikor worked till now for that man. Lately he was forced to serve in the
Turkish army. One day when the soldiers were near Djerablus, Krikor succeeded
in fleeing. Our agent found him and sent him to our rescue-home in Aleppo.
