In the beginning of the war
her father was a soldier in the Turkish army. The unhappy mother was deported
with her two little children. On the road they suffered much of fatigue and
hunger. Near Deir-el-Zor an Arab took them all in his tent. Very soon
afterwards, he wanted to sell the mother to another Arab, but she refused very
earnestly and at midnight, she fled from there, leaving her two children in the
Arab's tent. Early in the morning, when Gita remarked her mother's absence, she
fled too, and came to a village, where she lived many years with Kurds. When
she was informed about our rescue-home, she fled without any delay and reached
Deir-el-Zor from where by our agent she was sent to us.
