Hagop’s
mother died before the war. He lived with his father and grand mother. In the
beginning of the war he was taken as a soldier in the Turkish army and
disappeared.
Hagop
was deported with his grandmother. After a few days she died. A Türk took Hagop
to his house, there he stayed 2 years, he the fled to a Kurdish village, where
he remained many years as a little shepherd.
One
day an Armeniam merchant came to that village. He spoke with Hagop, and the boy
was willing to go with him to Djerablous whence by our agent he was sent on to
our rescue-home in Aleppo.
