Garabed was exiled with his mother and one brother. His father died before the deportation. On the road the caravan was attacked several times by the Kurds and was entirely annihilated. However, Garabed was taken by a Kurd to his house in Veranshehir. He remained eleven years there. Once his master had to go on business to Mardin, he took Garabed with him. On reaching there he granted permission to the boy to take a walk in the market, but during the walk he was informed about our rescue-house. He fled and reached Hassitshe, whence to our colony.
