Deported until a place, 12 hours from Urfa where the caravan was killed or in other ways done with. His whole family died there. He himself succeeded in fleeing together with another little boy until the village Misagh in the neighbourhood of Diarbekir inhabited by the tribe Ras-Cata.

There he became a Kourd and lived with them as a shepherd.

In this spring he heard that the Armenians were gathering, he walked to Diarbeker and from there having succeeded in getting a passport under a Turkish name, he walked again to Aleppo.

His elder brother may be alive. Before the war he lived in the village Gendsch near Tiflis.

Chatshadour learnt to make sandals and after 3 months was able to earn his own living.
