Armenag's father died during the
deportation. His mother, with her four children was taken into an Arab's tent
near Deir-el-Zor. The Arab was the chief of his tribe, he had many wives. Her
children were always beaten before her eyes. She could not endure this
illtreatement. After living three years with the Arab, by some means, she came
in contact with one of her distant relatives in America, and by his aid, she
succeeded to arrange her escape, but her children were too little, they could
not go quickly. Thus, she was recaptured and was brought back. The second time
she left her children and fled alone. She succeeded and reached Aleppo, from
where she wrote several letters to her owner begging for her children, but she
could not get them. At length, hopeless, she went to America. Lately she
informed us about the matter, but it was too late. We succeded in saving only
of them because the rest were dead.
The survivor was Armenag, he is waiting
eagerly for his passports to reach his dear mother in America.
