During the deportation his father killed, he with his mother, brother and sister were exiled. His brother and sister were lost on the way. Vahan was separated from his mother and taken to a Kourdish village. A few days later his mother was brought to the same house. Vahan's mother married the Kourd who had stolen her boy.

            However, Vahan and his mother lived eight years among the Kourds. Last year his mother became ill and died. Vahan was afraid to stay alone among the Kourds and he fled to Mardin. There he met the Armenian priest who sent him to our Refugee Station in Hassitshe and from there he was sent by motor-car to us.

            As far as we know he has no relatives.
