            The whole family deported, father Manoog Khatshadourian killed. Mother left a little girl 4-5 years old near Maden. Between Diarbekir and Mardin a Kurd took the boy, later the caravan disappeared. Mother was most probably killed.

            Mardiros lived with the Kurd in Karajaghoum until this spring when he heard that an Armenian in Urfa was sending Armenian boys off to Aleppo. He fled and finally reached Aleppo 24th of May.   

            His only living relative is his father's brother Garabed Khatshadourian in America.

 

 

Mardiros learned a trade (carpenter) and became selfsupporting.
