In the beginning of the war
her father was taken into the Turkish army. When the deportation started she
was exiled with her mother, brother and relatives. On the way her brother
became ill and died. When they came near Mardin the Turks took them to their
houses.
Verkine was also taken away by
a Turk. She was obliged to stay there 11 years, then she fled and arrived
Deir-el-Zor from where she was sent per motor-car to us.
