Her husband was killed during the deportation. Gadar was deported with her four children to Mardin. On the road she lost all of them. In Mardin she became the wife of a Turk.
One year after her marriage with the Turk from Mardin she found one of her sons. The boy lived with her in the Turk's house.
When Armenians were allowed to leave Turkey she gave her son to the American orphanage there, and 3 months afterwards she fled to Aleppo paying a muleteer for showing her the road.
Gadar found her relatives and went to live with them.
