Surpouhi's husband was a soldier in the Turkish army when she was deported with her mother and little children to Meskene. As a result of the long and painful journey her mother and children became ill and died. She herself became ill too, an Arab took her to his house and treated her as well as he could. After her recovery he wanted to marry her. She refused and fled to a Turkish family where she lived seven years as a servant.
Her master's family came to Aleppo and they took Surpouhi with them. At her arrival she fled to the Armenian church, from there she was sent to us.
