Melkon's father was a blacksmith and necessary for the
Turks in the wartime, therefore he was not deported. Later in the year 1921 he
was taken as a soldier and died. Melkon who had learned the same trade as his
father was working hard and was a good help for his mother and his three
brothers. Two months ago he was taken as a soldier and brought to Diarbekir. He
was sorry. To leave his mother meant that they had to suffer from hunger the
two years he was obliged to serve as a soldier. He therefore fled and reached
Ras-el-Ain, from there he was sent on to us.
Left our care: June 19,
1929. Relatives.
