Yeghisapet was deported with
her parents in her infancy. On the road to Deir-el-Zor an Arab killed her
father and took possession of her mother. He kept them for several years in his
house, then put them of doors. Soon her mother was taken by another Arab to his
house but he would not accept the child. Thus, Yeghisapet was left alone in the
streets till she was taken by a Tchetchen, with whom she lived 6 years, working
for him.
Once, on the field, she met
with an Armenian chauffeur, assured him firmly that she was an Armenian girl
and asked his help. The chauffeur brought her to our reception-house.
