Krikor's mother died when the whole family was deported over Aintab to Der-el-Zor. On the road through the Syrian desert his father and brother became ill and died. After a few days the same caravan was exiled to Hassitshe. A few hours from Der-el-Zor all men were massacred in the presence of women and children. Krikor was a child that time and fled to an Arab tribe. He remained two years there and did the work of a shepherd. Afterwards he fled to another tribe named Ibn-About, there he became a farmer and received a payment of ten sheep yearly. During these years he made an economy of ten Turkish Gold Pounds. He went to Der-el-Zor with the intention to start a little business, on his way he was attacked by brigands who took him all the money. Krikor wenton to Der-el-Zor an Armenian recognized him in the town and took him to the house of our agent who sent him by motor-car to this city. As far as we know he has no relatives.
