Ovsanna with her parents, one sister
and six brothers were exiled to Urfa. There her sister was dragged away by
force into a Turkish house. Three brothers were lost and one brother succeeded
in returning back to his native country, where he was sheltered by one of his
neighbours. She herself was taken by a Turk to Nizib, where although young she
was married to her possessor.
After a long time two of her long
lost brothers succeeded in making their way to their native country. When the
danger was over, the three brothers began to rebuild their ruined home and with
help of a rich Turk they succeeded in arranging Ovsanna's escape from Nizib. In
this way she rejoined her brothers.
They lived together until the
Kurdish rebellion, then her brothers were obliged to leave their house and
sister again. Fortunately one of her brothers reached safely in Aleppo and
asked our help to rescue his sister. By paying the expenses of the journey we
succeeded to transport the girl to Aleppo.
