After her father's death, her mother gave her to a Turk before she went to the place of her exile. Zakia was the servant of the Turkish family for one year. Later her mother came back and took her to Urfa. Mother and daughter lived in Urfa until the French army left this city. Then they went to their village. Within a few months a Kourd wanted to marry Zakia by force. In the most critical moment a young Armenian saved her and brought her to Aleppo and left her in our care.
Learned embroidery and became selfsupporting.
