Aghavni's father died before the war. When Armenians were deported her mother gave her to a known Turk, hoping to save her life in this way. Four months later the Russian army occupied that region, Christians and Moslems were exiled to Harpoot.
In Harpoot Aghavni located her uncle's daughter who was a servant in a Turkish family. The Turkish friend of her mother became too poor to support her and so she was given to another Turkish family. Aghavni served eight years in this family. When Armenians were emigrating she fled from the Turk, joined a caravan and came to this city.
She has a cousin in Hama, but he is not able to support her, so she found a place as a servant and left.
